Mr. Nick Atwood

Family : My Dad is Dana, my mom is Erika, and my brother is Jeff.

Hobbies: Taekwon-Do, Soccer, Wrestling, Basketball, Dallas Cowboy fan, Exploring computers, Orchestra and playing pool.

Education: I am currently a fifth grader at Berney Elementary School.

Occupation: Being a son, brother and work safety patrol at school.

Occupation/Education Highlights: Helping my family, doing well in school!

Years in TKD: 5 Years

Why I started TKD: In the beginning my parents put me in Taekwon-Do to learn discipline and respect, which I did. Before long I did it because I wanted to learn how to defend myself. I like to help others learn and get good exercise too!

Best TKD moment:

•  My first tournament, it made me really want to keep doing it.

•  TKD Pioneer Park party, I liked kickball and playing!

•  Traveling to tournaments with my family and seeing different places.

•  Getting my 1st Dan, it seemed to take along time but I finally made it.

•  Being able to teach younger kids.

Worst TKD moment:

•  Pushups!

•  A bloody nose and a jammed finger as a green belt during a tournament.

•  Being late for class.

Favorite aspect of TKD: I like patterns and ho son sul

Least favorite aspect of TKD: Warm-ups

Advice for new students: I think focus and discipline are most important. Don't goof around and never give up.

Advice for old students: Be patient with younger students. They are just learning new stuff about TKD and want to learn from you.

What does TKD mean to you? TKD means alot to me because I've learned many things from different instructers and students, mainly Mr. Glencross, he has taught me the most. He has led me to become a BlackBelt with discipline and knowledge. I think TKD helps me to be a better person and more friendly.

What keeps you going? There were times when I just want to stay home and play but thankfully my parents forced me to go. Now I keep going because I think it is fun and I like helping others and learning more.

Future TKD goals: My #1 goal is to become a Grand Master. I want to keep TKD in my life forever and share it with others. Without it I don't know where I would be.
